Marion Mousse talks about the future of the Tour de France Femme

Last Monday (01), during a press conference on the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, the director of the biggest women’s cycling competition, Marion Mousse, discussed the future of matches and the interest in making the sport more sustainable and accessible to all.

“We want to evolve at the same pace as women’s cycling and, at the moment, with only the second edition of the race, it is difficult to add more stages. The rosters of the WorldTour and Continental teams are still not big enough to do a race of, say, 15 days or three weeks”, explained Marion Mousse, director of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift.

Marion Mousse stated that there is interest in adding more stages to the women’s circuit but that patience is needed for this to happen: “We have to go little by little. We are not closing the door on any possibility. Of course, when the time comes, we will add more stages if we can.”

This year, the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift will take place from the 23rd to the 30th of July, in France, with a trajectory of 956 kilometers different from previous departures. With the competition in a new location, the stages will start in Clermont – Ferrand, through the Pyrenees to the mountain of Tourmalet, with the last stage in Pau.
