Jonas Vingegaard from Jumbo-Visma showcased his dominance in the Critérium du Dauphiné by securing a victory on stage 7, conquering the challenging Col de la Croix de Fer all by himself.

With a remarkable performance, Vingegaard, who previously achieved second place in the stage 3 time trial and claimed the yellow jersey on stage 5, solidified his excellent form leading up to the Tour de France. Adam Yates of UAE Team Emirates emerged as the nearest competitor, crossing the finish line 43 seconds behind Vingegaard, elevating himself to second place overall. However, Yates still trails Vingegaard by a significant 2 minutes and 11 seconds, with only one stage remaining.

Jai Hindley from Bora-Hansgrohe secured the final spot on the podium, finishing 55 seconds behind the leader. Meanwhile, Ben O’Connor from AG2R Citroën held onto his overall podium position by finishing fourth.

The challenging final weekend featured Hors-Catégorie climbs, including the Col de la Madeleine (25.1km at 6.2%) and Col du Mollard (18.5km at 5.8%), leading up to the summit finish on the Col de la Croix de Fer (13.1km at 6.2%).
