Liverpool rejects $190m bid for Mohamed Salah from Al Ittihad

Liverpool rejected a bid of up to £150m ($190m) for Mohamed Salah today from Saudi Arabian team Al-Ittihad, according to the newspaper “The Athletic”.

The information from “The Athletic” also points out that the English received the offer through a friendly call on Thursday night, but that they did not even take the value into consideration. Liverpool director Mike Gordon has reportedly made it clear that Salah is not for sale, considering the case closed. The Saudis, however, would not have the same vision and could make a new attack, according to “Athletic”.

Salah, 31, has been the subject of intense speculation linking him to a move to the Saudi champions in recent weeks, despite Reds manager Jurgen Klopp’s insistence that the player would not be allowed to leave Anfield on this upcoming season.

Liverpool manager Klopp said on this Friday (1),  that he remained concerned about the threat posed by clubs in Saudi Arabia, due to the transfer window remaining open until mid-September. Salah renewed his contract with Liverpool a year ago, signing for a further three seasons with the English club, until 2025.
