Djokovic disputes Nadal’s statement about rivalry

The number 1 tennis player in the world in the ATP rankings, Novak Djokovic, was not satisfied with the interview given by Rafael Nadal to Movistar+, as reported by the newspaper As.

Regarding the dispute for the record number of Grand Slam titles in his career, Nadal stated that did not feel frustrated at being outperformed by Djokovic.

The Spaniard declared that Djokovic would be upset if he hadn’t managed to beat him and that he is more ambitious. Djokovic disagreed with Nadal’s comment, but chose not to directly rebut it. The Serbian tennis player expressed that although he does not agree with the opinion, he has respect for Rafael and preferred not to deepen the discussion. 

He emphasized his respect for Nadal and Federer, highlighting that he is above any negative opinion he may have about them. Djokovic emphasized that he does not intend to speak negatively about them and that he does not wish to share his opinion, as he does not see the need to delve deeper into the subject. It is important to note that Nadal was surpassed in the number of Grand Slam titles by Djokovic, with the Spaniard holding 22 titles and the Serbian holding 24.
