“I like new challenges and having different things. Sometimes new things are better, but you don’t know until you do it. I’m leaving the best team of the year, so I don’t expect to go to an even better team. We will see what the future does”, said Primoz Roglic during the press conference.
The athlete continued to explain what led him to opt to leave Jumbo-Visma: “Of course, many teams were interested, but perhaps few of them could actually do it. When we started talking to Bora-Hansgrohe, things happened very quickly and we discovered the good things we have in common. There was enthusiasm for what I try to do. That was enough for me”.
At the beginning of the month, Primoz Roglic announced that he would be signing an agreement with a new team, however, no details were released. After completing the competitions he was registered with Jumbo-Visma, the cyclist reported that he had negotiated with Bora-Hansgrohe and that he was satisfied with the acquisition.
When announcing the competitor in the team, Ralph Denk, head of Bora-Hansgrohe, said that his connection with the cyclist goes back many years since his career began and that they met in a beer hall in Salzburg, Austria. In the aforementioned period, the German revealed that he had made an offer that was denied by Primoz Roglic.
