The decision was made following an emergency conference call of members in good standing to discuss the Empire’s failure to pay mandatory and overdue league assessments. Each team is responsible for paying 1/7 of the operating budget through assessments starting in April,” the Association said in a statement.

In April of this year, Antonio Brown became majority owner of the Albany Empire and, according to information from the National Arena League, the player would have paid one of the fees in the same month he acquired the team.
