Asked about being confident for the next phases, the cyclist stated that there are still many races ahead: “We will have to see. Tomorrow, Thursday, is a stage that we have to respect and many things can happen. Today was a really decisive day and the gaps are what they are. For me the situation is clear, but we still have to talk among ourselves.”

The podium of the competition’s general classification is currently dominated by Jumbo-Visma athletes, Sepp Kuss, Primoz Roglic and Jonas Vingegaard, who are increasingly standing out with their team leadership and excellent performance in the competitions. The competitors declared that they are satisfied with the team’s dynamics and intend to continue improving.

“They are two great champions. I want my opportunity, but I’m happy to work for them when necessary. It has been a beautiful experience. I discovered a level of self-confidence and running instinct and that was incredible. with two guys, Vingegaard and Roglic, I think behind the scenes we worked very well together”, said Sepp Kuss.

In an interview after the end of race 17, Jonas Vingegaard declared that he was rooting for his teammate’s victory: “Victory today was our main objective to maintain the 1-2-3 situation in GC. I think everything went the way we wanted. I think we can be happy with everything. To be honest, I’m still happy that Sepp has the jersey, I would love to see Sepp win this Vuelta a Espana”, he said.
