Gisele was afraid that Brady would develop chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a progressive neurodegenerative disease caused by repeated blows to the head, very common among football players.
After three months of the couple’s separation, which announced their divorce in October 2022, Tom decides to retire. People close to the couple said that Gisele wanted Tom to opt for retirement.
Gisele was a fundamental part of the decision to retire and Tom Brady did not try to hide that the choice to leave the field was made together with his wife.
