Max Verstappen criticizes Formula 1 calendar change

Driver says the number of races could affect his career

Last Tuesday (18), through an interview, Max Verstappen discussed the new change in the Formula 1 calendar, which from next year will have 24 races and six sprint categories that will be spread across the globe. The pilot said that with the measure he could be absent from the sport, since he considers the number too high and needs a lot of preparation.

“It’s a lot for me, but we have to deal with it. I think it’s at least more logical the way it’s planned. It’s the best for everyone. There are more things that need to happen for me to be sure if I want to stay a long time or not, but this is not helping, it is a certainty”, said the pilot.

Max Verstappen also spoke about the partnership between Red Bull and Ford, which will bring new vehicles to the matches, and how it impacts his career: “I think it is a very interesting project for us. And for me, it’s very important to know what’s going on, also for my future with the team. Everything looks promising. Of course, we’re going to be up against all these manufacturers and it’s going to be difficult, but the signs are good. Now, we need to try and deliver”.
