Nairo Quintana receives proposal for a new team by Medellín-EPM

The athlete has not yet confirmed whether he will accept the invitation

After declarations that he would be able to compete this year and that he would already have a team for the next competitions, Nairo Quintana received this week a proposal to compose the new Medellín-EPM team. The offer came to light after the selection of Miguel Ángel López in the team.

According to the MARCA newspaper, the Medellín-EPM team has been trying to negotiate with Nairo Quintana since November last year, however, until then, no agreement had been reached. “We will be interested in counting on you. I hope he can represent us and thus continue his great career”, said the cyclist’s possible new team.

The Colombian athlete would have withdrawn from the sport after being accused by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) of using illicit substances during competitions. As a result, Nairo Quintana had his three-year contract with former team Arkea Samsic terminated.
