Last week, at the Palace of Catalan Music, located in Spain, director Javier Guillen from Vuelta a Espana released more details of how the competition will be this year. The start date will be August 26th in Barcelona, which will run through 10 mountain top finishes and will end on September 17th in Madrid.

According to the director of the competition, Javier Guillen, the competition will be different from the matches of other years, “the mountains are part of the DNA of the Vuelta and will still move us in 2023”. The route features the Col du Tourmalet and Angliru climbs as highlights, 10 summit finishes and two time trials.

“Tourmalet will be a milestone, along with Angliru. We continue to look for new climbs to show good cycling and it is in this search that we discover new arrivals in Larra-Belagua, Cruz de Linares and Bejes, and mountain passes such as Larrau and Issarbe”, said Javier Guillen during the presentation of the Vuelta a Espana.
