Australia Open: Venus Williams suffers injury leading to withdrawal from competition

The athlete has won several championships in recent years

In recent weeks, the Australia Open has been taking place, one of the great tennis events in which the best female and male players in the sport compete. Venus Williams, one of the most anticipated competitors, clarified on social media that due to an injury she suffered at the New Zealand tournament, she will no longer participate in the competition.

The invitation for Venus Williams to participate in the Australia Open was made in December last year, surprising her fans. In celebration, the athlete had made a publication stating how excited she was about the tournament, “the Australian community has always supported me wholeheartedly.
