Recently, Formula 1 is considering making some changes related to departure routes. In an interview with the press, Lewis Hamilton commented that the change will be positive for everyone: “I think the changes with sprint racing can be positive in some places. I’m open to changes, to make them more inclusive and engaging for fans. I really like the Friday of a sprint weekend and would love to have more rankings because it’s always so much fun. I just think it should be different”.

“Maybe we can apply small changes to different races that are specific to those places. If there’s a race where you can’t overtake, like Monaco, what else can you do to make it more exciting?

George Russel, also a Mercedes driver, also evaluated the change: “For the fans in the stands, just seeing the cars running on the track in practice is not as exciting as having a qualifying session or a sprint race. I think it’s exciting for us, for the teams and for the fans”.
