“I don’t think about the ‘pioneer’ label. I’m just doing what I love. I’m a former player, but there’s nobody who looks like me. First of all, for a black woman to be in the front seat – that’s a whole new way. So, as a woman in general, being a head coach is different. So that’s what I’m trying to do. What we’re doing is just taking one day at a time and creating that path”.

The news reinforces a milestone in the history of professional basketball, as with the choice, Lindsey Harding is the second woman to lead a men’s team. The former athlete has an unmatched track record, in 2007 she was chosen as the number 1 of the WNBA Draft, went through the positions of assistant coach of the Toronto Raptors and worked with Philadelphia 76ers.
