++ Anthony Davis will receive the highest salary in the NBA after contract renewal with Lakers
According to ESPN’s, Adrian Wojnarowski, the 76ers wants the starter to return to the team in
2023/2024, which goes against his will, to leave the team. Harden’s desire was no secret to
anyone.
Shortly after opening free agency, the 2018 NBA Most Valuable Player accepted his option on
the contract, but made it clear his intentions to be traded. Then, the Sixers have sought
alternatives, and the main destination would be the Los Angeles Clippers, but the negotiations
didn’t advance. The reason was that Clippers put a damper on the high requests from 76ers, and
the time passed.
Now, there are just under three months left until the start of the NBA regular season, and
Philadelphia has opted to keep Harden.
The relationship between Harden and Morel has strained. They were long time friends, since
Houston Rockets. Still according to ESPN, one of the main factors for this situation was the
contractual issue, since the manager didn’t offer the star a maximum long-term contract.
Other factor was that the athlete didn’t like the difficulties that Sixers imposed with the Clippers.
Now, the final decision from the team would be for James Harden to join the cast in pre-season
training.
