“In principle, the time trial should be the best for me out of all the riders in qualifying, so it would be nice if I could reserve half a minute. That’s a big ambition because Ayuso, Vingegaard and Roglic are also in shape. Just look at the time trials at recent Grand Tours, Jonas Vingegaard won the Tour time trial in the yellow jersey and last year I won the red jersey at the Vuelta.”
Asked about the last race, in which he was behind Sepp Kuss for a few seconds, Remco Evenepoel praised the competitor’s performance, however, he said that he considers Primoz Roglic and Jonas Vingegaard to be one of the great challenges that will be faced in the next matches of the Vuelta a Espana .
“It’s not an easy task to draw up plans to try to beat them, especially if they work well together. We have to deal with it and manage it well. I am the first of the main favorites, but it is difficult to say who is above the other because we are close to the time for the moment, despite some difficult stages”, concluded the cyclist.
