Simone Biles talks about next year’s Paris Olympics

This Thursday (7), Simone Biles talked about the possibility of competing at the next year’s Olympics. In an interview to NBC’s “Today” show, the gymnastic athlete said “Right now, I would say that’s the path I would love to go.”

This comes a month after she returned to competitive gymnastics. She made history winning a record eighth national all-around title, at US gymnastics Championships in California, on August 27.

She took a two-year hiatus after the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, when she had several events of “twisties”, a mental block causing her to lose track of positions in midair. She explained that she made it through the problem with the help of those around her. “A lot of trust in my coach, my teammates, myself – most importantly – coming in that gym and making sure I’m doing those numbers, the repetitions, feeling confident in them”.

Before the return to gymnastics, she married the NFL player Jonathan Owens, earlier this year.
