Lotto-Dstny refuses invitation to major competitions in 2023

The group chose to improve its professionals by focusing on smaller competitions

According to the Belgian newspaper, Het Laatste Nieuws, Lotto-Dsnty preferred to decline the invitation to join the Giro d’Italia, Tirreno-Adriatico and Itzulia Basque Country in order to focus on smaller competitions and outside the World Tour to score points for the UCI rankings at the end of the season.

Lotto-Dsnty commented on the choice: “The idea is that we want to start the second half of the season as fresh as possible. Where we look at Caleb Ewan, to give him every chance of winning stages on the tour. Tour will have the opportunity to book an altitude training camp during the Giro.”
