But even though Groves won the stage, it was the Jumbo-Visma team that dominated the podium, with Jonas Vingegaard second and Primoz Roglic in third. Kuss maintained his 17-second lead over Vingegaard and 1min08s over Roglic.

The team even became the first one to win all of the Grand Tours, with Vingegaard winning Tour de France and Roglic the Giro d’Italia.

Vuelta a Espana 2024 will start in Portugal, hosting three stages, starting in Lisbon on August 17 to arrive in Oeiras. The second stage is from Cascais to Ourém, and the third is from Lousã to Castello Branco.
