Benzema returned to Al-Ittihad, but the tension remained. According to the newspaper “Arriyadiyah”, the striker argued with coach Marcelo Gallardo in training on Monday (5) and left the session afterwards.
After being removed by Gallardo for not arriving in time for an off-season and almost leaving the club in the last transfer window, Benzema rejoined Al-Ittihad on Monday. The club even posted photos of the striker on the field.
As a result, according to “Arriyadiyah”, Gallardo ordered Benzema to do individual work, as he was still not at the same pace as his teammates. The Frenchman refused and argued that he had completed the individual training imposed by the club during the interseason.
