With this, according to the broadcaster “RMC”, Mbappé fulfilled a promise to the president of PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, that the director would be the first to know whether he would stay at the club or not.

According to the newspapers “L’Équipe” and “Le Parisien”, the meeting took place last Tuesday, at the training center in Poissy, and the player asked the agent not to make a counter-proposal.

According to “Le Parisien” at the beginning of February, Mbappé decided to transfer to Real Madrid in the middle of the year.

In June last year, the French striker had sent a letter to PSG formalizing his desire not to activate a renewal clause for another season, maintaining his relationship with the French team until June 2024.

Therefore, according to FIFA’s international transfer regulations, any player can sign a pre-contract with another team when they are less than six months away from the end of their current commitment, as is the case with Mbappé. There is, however, no indication that the Frenchman has already signed a pre-contract with Real Madrid.

Mbappé has 31 goals and seven assists with the PSG shirt in 2023/24. He is currently the player with the most goal contributions in all club competitions of the season in Europe’s elite.
