Defeating the champion Alcaraz beats Zverev and advances to the semi finals of the US Open

Carlos Alcaraz is confirmed for the semifinals of the US Open. This Wednesday 09/06, in New York, after defeating the current champion of the tournament the german Alexander Zverev by 3 sets to 0, in a match that lasted 2 Hours and 24 minutes.

Alcaraz and Medvedev have already met three times on the professional circuit and the Spaniard got the upper hand in the last two meetings, both played this year, being the final in Indian Wells and the semifinal in Wimbledon.

Now, in the semifinals of the US Open, Alcaraz will face the Russian Daniil Medvedev, who beat compatriot Andrey Rublev this Wednesday by 3 sets to 0, with openings of 6/4, 6/3 and 6/4.
