Alcaraz and Medvedev have already met three times on the professional circuit and the Spaniard got the upper hand in the last two meetings, both played this year, being the final in Indian Wells and the semifinal in Wimbledon.
Now, in the semifinals of the US Open, Alcaraz will face the Russian Daniil Medvedev, who beat compatriot Andrey Rublev this Wednesday by 3 sets to 0, with openings of 6/4, 6/3 and 6/4.
“I feel very comfortable playing here in New York. I’m showing my best level on this court,” said Alcaraz. “I’m ready for a big battle against Medvedev in the semifinals.”
