Away from home, the Basque team started the game by pressing forward and not giving Real the ball. In the Merengues’ first attack, Rodrygo made a beautiful individual play and opened the scoring with a great goal from outside the area.

From that moment on, the leaders of the Spanish Championship improved and had more chances with Valverde from outside the area and Tchouaméni with a header, but were unable to extend the score.

Bilbao felt the goal conceded and lost strength in attack. The second half followed a similar script, with more chances for Real and again a beautiful goal scored by the Brazilian striker.

Without the suspended Vinicius Júnior, Rodrygo took responsibility and had an exceptional performance playing on the left wing. The Brazilian star scored two goals and reached ten goals this season in LaLiga. Upon leaving the field in the second half, the striker received a standing ovation at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The home victory with Rodrygo’s goals gave Real Madrid back their eight-point lead over Barcelona. The leader of the Spanish Championship has 75 points against 67 for the Catalan team.
