“It’s important that our team of sporting directors stay in touch with the riders and what’s going on in the field. Tony also has the opportunity to learn by doing the job and to grow as an athletic director. With Tony, we bring someone who knows the team and comes straight from the professional peloton”, said the team’s CEO, Stéphane Heulot.

The owner went on to explain about the decision: “Dirk has known the game for years and reads the race like no other. He can count on years of experience and brings us a lot of knowledge.” Both professionals have an excellent track record in cycling as much as athletes and coaches.

Dirk Demol participated in competitions between 1989 and 1992, he worked for Israel Premier-Tech, Discovery, Quickstep and Astana-Qazastan. Tony Gallopin, on the other hand, started his career in 2010 with victories in the Tour de France, Vuelta a Espanha and participated in several teams.

Recently Lotto-Dstny’s collaboration with Allan Davis was terminated after numerous accusations of harassment on neighboring networks. “Lotto Dstny has its own values and standards that we apply in our daily work and in the team. We have a line we don’t deviate from and we require our employees to stick to it. We prioritized the well-being and integrity of our team and therefore further collaboration was impossible”, reported Stephane Heulot, CEO of the team, in a statement.
