Last Sunday (29), in Melbourne Park, Australia, Novak Djokovic faced the final of the Australia Open with Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Serbian, upon winning the match, earned his 22nd career victory at the Australian Open, ranking as the world’s No. 1 player and setting a Grand Slam record.

Upon receiving the trophy, the tennis player thanked everyone for their support: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I must say that this was one of the most challenging tournaments I have ever played in my life… Only the team and family know what we’ve been through the last four or five weeks. This is probably the biggest win in my life, considering the circumstances.”

With his latest victory, Novak Djokovic returns to take the first place in the ranking of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). The tennis player returns the position for the 374th week and if he stays until February 20, he will break Stefanie Graf’s record of 377 weeks.
