During a press conference in Belgrade, Serbia, Novak Djokovic reported that he has applied to the United States for a special permit to gain entry into the country and participate in the upcoming match against Indian Wells and Miami next month. The reason for the request is because the tennis player is not vaccinated against Covid-19, therefore, he cannot enter the country.

For not having vaccinated himself against Covid-19, Novak Djokovic was removed and deported from several championships such as Australia in January 2022, in which he had the option to protect and denied, and in the United States, during the US Open, which also happened last year.
