According to Ineos Grenadiers, through a statement on social networks, Egan Bernal has recovered from all injuries and will be able to participate in the next competitions that will take place later this month. The forecast is that the cyclist will return actively in the Volta a Catalunya and Settimana Coppi and Bartali.

++ Championship in Belgium canceled due to snow

“He is obviously a little frustrated, but we are supporting him. It was reported that he had a little something in his knee, which has nothing to do with last year’s accident. Egan is eager to run, but a lot of times with these guys, you have to hold him back. Egan will be back in Europe soon and hopefully will be racing at the end of the month,” said Rod Ellingworth, Ineos Grenadiers manager.

Despite being the great winner of the Tour de France in 2019, Egan Bernal is still not sure that he will have his place to compete in this year’s competition, given that one of the names that are targeted for the match is Geraint Thomas. Tom Pidcock, Pavel Sivakov and Tao Geoghegan Hart, although they have priorities to participate in the Grand Tour, are also possibilities for the team.

++ Vinicius Jr. could leave Real Madrid later this year

“I don’t think it’s possible to win the Tour all the time. Dani Martínez and maybe Carlos Rodriguez will get their chance. I think it’s an ideal Tour for Dani this year and he’s still growing and improving. He impressed in the Volta ao Algarve time trial this year to win the race and again at the Tour de Suisse last year. I’m really excited for Dani and what he can do on the Tour,” said Rod Ellingworth, manager of Ineos Grenadiers.
