As previously stated here on the Miami Cycling News website, to participate in the NP Paribas Open championship, Novak Djokovic would need a United States authorization to enter the country since the athlete is not vaccinated against Covid-19. This week, on social media, the tennis player ended up giving up competing in the competition.

According to the Associated Press, the attempt at authorization that the tennis player made was unsuccessful even after the support he received from the US Open competitions and the United States Tennis Association (USTA). Florida Senator Rick Scott posted on social media that the country’s Homeland Security would have rejected Novak Djokovic’s vaccine exemption request.
