Last Sunday (02), in Belgium, for the third time, Tadej Pogocar won first place in the Tour De Flanders. The cyclist managed to pass the last winner of the race, Mathieu Van Der Poel, who ended up in second place, and Mads Pedersen, sharing third place with Wout Van Aert.
“It is a day I will never forget. I can say that I can retire after today and be proud of my career, but I can be super, super happy and proud”, said the athlete who entered the record books for having won the Tour de France and the Tour de Flanders.
The cyclist also commented on how the preparation and the races went: “I knew I had to go alone the last time I climbed Kwaremont. I just gave it all away. I almost cracked on the Paterberg, but I knew it would be difficult. It was the only way to go all the way. Kwaremont is what suits me the most, we hit with speed and suffer on the rocks. Then it’s pure power to the top and it’s over. It favors me”.
