Covid-19 hits Jumbo-Vista team on Giro d’Italia

Some athletes tested positive

Last Tuesday (02), through social networks, Jumbo-Vista said that its team will undergo changes in the athletes who will compete in the Giro d’Itália, next week, between May 6 and 28. The replacement was due to Tobias Foss and Robert Gesink having been diagnosed with Covid-19.

“Unfortunately, covid strikes again. In addition to Wilco Kelderman, Tobias Foss and Robert Gesink will also be replaced at the Giro d’Italia. Jos van Emden and Rohan Dennis will replace him,” Jumbo-Vista said in a social media post.

In recent months, the team has undergone several changes after some accidents happened to its athletes, as in the case of Key Kelderman with a fall in the Tirreno Adriatico. Sepp Kuss will step in for the cyclist to compete in the coming weeks.
