“Now the time has come to say goodbye. From the court where I made my name, from the game that gave me purpose and pride. I’m excited about what the future holds. I remember the days when I had nothing. Just a ball on the court and a dream. But basketball was my outlet, my purpose was strong, my communities, the cities I proudly represented and fans who supported me along the way. I’m forever grateful for these people and places because they made me, Carmelo Anthony.”
