Last Monday (26), through social networks, Ineos Grenadiers stated that Egan Bernal and Tom Pidcock were chosen and confirmed for this year’s Tour de France. The team will also consist of Daniel Martínez, Jonathan Castroviejo, Omar Fraile, Michal Kwiatkowski and Ben Turner.

After three years away from competition, Egan Bernal spoke about his expectations for this year: “Returning to the Tour was a big goal for me. I’m really excited to be able to experience every kilometer of this race again. I’m sure many people have followed everything that has happened to me since my accident in January of last year and the journey I took to overcome the biggest test of my life”.

The cyclist continued: “Being part of this year’s Tour reassures me that I am on the right track to get back to my best. This race is an opportunity to show my gratitude and commitment to the team that has supported me continuously throughout my life, to thank every single person who has helped me, from the nurses who took care of me in the hospital, to the doctors, friends and family”.
Rod Ellingworth, manager of Ineos Grenadiers, told a little more about the choice of athletes for the Tour de France 2023: “We have selected an exciting group of riders who bring a mixture of skills and experience. The strength of this team will be in how we approach the race and how we approach each stage with the options we have”.
