However, Rod Ellingworth, Deputy Team Principal at Ineos Grenadiers, called Tom Pidcock a great promise for this year’s Tour de France and for professional sport: “He would definitely like to take a step beyond last year’s achievements, say like this. As a rookie last year, winning a stage was a great start. To be honest with you, I think he felt how big the Tour was the first time around and I think it really got him involved and made him think that I would love to be a part of that in the bigger picture”.

“While this is where I feel these guys can’t fail, each step is a learning curve. He’s at that point in his career where, even when he takes a hit, it’s the right moment, reflect on yourself and then move on. I’m sure we’ll see a better Tom Pidcock than we saw in Suisse,” said Rod Ellingworth, Deputy Head of Ineos Grenadiers.
