Al-Ittihad had a $190m offer rejected by Liverpool, and there were rumors that a world-record $270m bid was made, but that was never confirmed. Liverpool fans were waiting anxiously for the transfer window to close.

Now, Salah stays at least until the next window transfer opens again, when Al-Ittihad can make new offers. The Saudi Pro League side reinforced their squad, by hiring Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kanté and Fabinho.
Salah signed a new contract with Liverpool last season, till the end of 2024, and is the highest-paid player at the club. The coach Jürgen Klopp does not want the star to leave, and treats him as a non-negotiable.
