This Friday (8), morning the United States team was eliminated by Germany for 113 to 111 in the Basketball World Cup.

The Americans came into the competition as favorites for the title, but they didn’t live up to it. It is the second World Cup in a row that the team has failed to reach the final.
The US Team managed to stage a comeback in the last quarter, putting a lot of pressure on in the final seconds. However, veteran Dennis Schroder (former Lakers) managed to lead Germany to a historic victory.

Franz Wagner, Orlando Magic winger, was one of the German team’s highlights with 22 points and five rebounds. On the North American side, Anthony Edwards, star of the Minnesota Timberwolves, was the scorer with 23 points.
Now, Germany will face the strong Serbia that even without Nikola Jokic, current NBA champion with the Denver Nuggets (who decided not to compete in the World Cup), managed to reach the final. The duel will be next Sunday (10). Meanwhile, the American team competes for third place against Canada in a game also on Sunday, before the grand final.
