In June it was announced that the Renault Group sold 24% of the team to a group of investors for 200 million euros. The buyers form a consortium made up of Otro Capital, RedBird Capital Partners and Maximum Effort Investments, the last one being led by actors Ryan Reinolds and Rob McElhenny, and actor Michael B Jordan as co-investor.

Now Otro Capital revealed some names that contributed to the purchase, like Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Super Bowl-winning tight end Travis Kelce. Other names were four-time golf champion Rory McIlroy, World heavyweight-winning champion boxer Anthony Joshua, Champions League-winning Trent Alexander-Arnold and World Cup-winning Spain midfielder Juan Mata.

The financial group released a statement, explaining that the investors would “help drive global awareness for Alpine F1 and will further complement Otro Capital’s contributions in areas such as media, sponsorship, ticketing, hospitality, commercial rights management, licensing and merchandising”.
