According to health authorities, hundreds of people died in an explosion in a crowded hospital in Gaza City on Tuesday (17) night. The Palestinian authorities claim that the explosion was caused by an Israeli air strike, but the Israeli military claims that it was the result of a failed rocket launch by Palestinian Islamic Jihad, which the militant group has rejected.

Salah talked about the scenes from the hospital and described them as “horrifying”. “The people of Gaza need food, water and medical supplies urgently. All lives are sacred and must be protected. The massacres need to stop. Families are being torn apart”.

The player continued saying “I am calling on the world leaders to come together to prevent further slaughter of innocent souls. Humanity must prevail”. Salah had been criticized for not speaking up in defense of Palestinians, and even a campaign to unfollow him on social media was started.
