Chris Froome reveals he won’t be retiring anytime soon

With his team's new card, the athlete would possibly be competing for this year's Tour de France

In the face of rumors that emerged about his retirement, Chris Froome denied the news and informed that he does not intend to retire from professional cycling anytime soon. Currently, the athlete is competing for the Tour Down Under, in Australia, and recently signed a contract with Israel- Premier Tech.

“I feel like I’ve been given a second chance. I had the opportunity to get back to motorcycle racing and the sport I love. If the accident had marked the end of my career, I would have felt that I still had more to give”, said the cyclist when referring to the event in 2019 that led to serious injuries in different parts of the body.

Chris Froome also commented on his experience with his new team, “Although I’m not at the front of the races right now, I’m still taking great pleasure in doing my job and being part of the Israel – Premier Tech team. It’s like I’ve gone back 15 years and I’m reaching for the highest level. It’s a new approach for me and I hope to do it for a few more years.”
