Shortly after being named as one of the athletes under investigation, his former team Astana Qazaqstan decided to end his contract. The athlete comments on the case in the interview and on new perspectives on the new Medellín EPM team: “Something good after what happened, and sometimes you have to take a small step back to take a big leap forward”.

“It’s a new experience, I’m motivated, I’m looking forward to a new season with beautiful experiences. It’s a little different from what I expected [for 2023], but I’m sure I’ll feel the support of the fans here, this is the best team here in Colombia”, said Miguel Angel López.
