East overcomes absences and wins the NBA All-Star Game

The absences of Joel Embiid and Julius Randle were not enough to stop the East team. On a night of Damian Lillard and Tyrese Haliburton, coach Doc Rivers’ team overran the West, winning the 73rd NBA All-Star Game by a score of 211 to 186.

With 39 points, Damian Lillard was the scorer of the winning team and won the MVP night in Indianapolis. Jaylen Brown (36), Tyrese Haliburton (32) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (23) were the East’s other standout scorers.

As a result, on the West side, Karl-Anthony Towns scored 50 points, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 31 times. LeBron James, in turn, played for just 13 minutes and scored eight points.

Nikola Jokic (13 points) and Luka Doncic (seven) were other stars who had discreet performances.

Furthermore, as is tradition at All-Star, celebrities from different areas attended the festive NBA game. One of the most celebrated VIPs was Russell Wilson, quarterback for the Denver Broncos. 

A basketball fan and regular at basketball games, filmmaker Spike Lee was also present at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Next to them were singers Rich Playa and Fat Joe.
