Foden shines and City win the derby against United

Foden and Haaland. starred in the Manchester derby in recent times, and yesterday (3) was no different. They led City’s 3-1 comeback at the Etihad, in a game valid for the 27th round of the Premier League.

Rashford opened the scoring with a great goal seven minutes into the first half. But Foden equalized in the 10th minute, his team didn’t slow down, and the English striker scored the second in the 34th minute. Haaland completed it in stoppage time.

Foden was instrumental in Manchester City’s victory. Not only because of the two goals, but because of the way they happened: one from a long shot, and the other from a play between him and Julián Álvarez.

The English striker now has 18 goals for City this season, the best tally of his entire career. Only Aguero has scored more goals for City against United in Premier League history (eight to six).

As a result, Haaland did not have a good game against Manchester United. Especially in the first half, when he missed an incredible chance in the small area, from the top, in the 44th minute.

But the Norwegian center forward — the Premier League’s top scorer with 18 goals — scored again against his rival. In fact, it is the team against which he scored the most goals for City. Since the start of last season, he and Foden have each scored six goals in this derby.

Now, unbeaten for 19 games this season, Manchester City has another big challenge in the next round of the Premier League: a direct clash against Liverpool, at Anfield, on Sunday. The two teams are separated by just one point in the standings (63 to 62). The day before, Manchester United host Everton at Old Trafford.
