Germany beats the Netherlands and gets excited for the Euro

Germany beat the Netherlands 2-1 this Tuesday, in a friendly played in Frankfurt. Julian Nagelsmann’s team ends the first FIFA Date of 2024 with two good victories – before beating the Dutch, they won against France.

Veerman opened the scoring for the visitors, but Mittelstädt, with a great goal, and Füllkrug, with a late header, guaranteed the German triumph. Kroos provided the assist for the turning goal.

With this, the two teams return to the field in June, for the European Championship. Beforehand, the two teams play two friendly matches in preparation: Germany faces Ukraine and Greece, and the Netherlands faces Canada and Iceland. Host of the Euro, the German team opens the tournament on June 14th, against Scotland.

In addition to this match, two other teams that will be in Europe faced each other on Tuesday and with a goal from Bellingham at the end, England drew with Belgium 2-2, at Wembley, and avoided the second defeat in a row in 2024.

Before, the English team lost to Brazil on Saturday. Tielemans scored both goals for the Belgian team, in the first half, and Ivan Toney scored the other for Gareth Southgate’s team.
