Despite having had a successful and consolidated career in the sport, boasting a record of 50 wins – 44 by knockout – and six defeats, Tyson shared that he is scared and said he feels the weight of the fight at the moment.

” I have a strange personality – but I don’t think it’s strange. Everything I’m afraid of doing, I do. That’s how it is. I was afraid of the fight with Roy (Jones). I was 100 pounds overweight , even though I was 54, 53 years old. Anything I’m afraid of, I face. That’s my personality. Right now, I’m scared to death”, said Tyson in an interview with “Fox News”.

It is worth remembering that the age difference between the fighters will be 31 years on the date of the confrontation. Mike, who will be 58 when he returns to the ring, was last in action in November 2020 when he faced Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition fight that ended in a draw.

Even with these dubious sensations, the former world champion believes that adversity and nervousness were essential factors in his success during his professional career. However, as the event approaches, Mike Tyson is able to manage his apprehension and become calmer.

“If I didn’t have these feelings, I wouldn’t get into this fight. I have to have these feelings to fight. Without them, I would never get into the ring. As the fight gets closer, I get less nervous because it’s reality and, in fact, I’m invincible,” he added.
