The player was giving an interview to the club’s official channel when the two Brazilians arrived by surprise with the award.

The Brazilian is the third Fulham player in history to receive the award, and the first in more than 14 years. Before him, only Louis Saha, in August 2001, and Mark Schwarzer, in February 2010, had been awarded the honor.

“I’m going to cry. I don’t know what to say. My God…” said Muniz as he received the trophy and wiped away his tears.

The former Flamingo’s great performance came in the duel against Tottenham, in the 29th round, where he found the net twice in Fulham’s 3-0 victory.
