Ralph Denk, boss of Bora-Hansgrohe, said that having the cyclist on the team is sensational: âHe is one of the best drivers in the world. He has won more or less every race in the 2023 season that he has contested. We are very much looking forward to it. I’m also proud that Primoz made the decision to sign with us. I think he was a huge boost for our entire teamâ.

During a press conference to announce the new acquisition, the businessman said that his connection with the cyclist goes back many years since his career began and that they met in a beer hall in Salzburg, Austria. In the aforementioned period, the German revealed that he had made an offer that was denied by Primoz Roglic.
âMy main argument was that we believed in him. I showed this at the meeting eight years ago. no one in our cycling cosmos recognized Primoz Roglic at that time, but I already did. We still believe in him and that was the key factor for him to sign with usâ, said Ralph Denk, boss of Bora-Hansgrohe.
Rumors of Primoz Roglic’s departure began when there was speculation that a merger between Jumbo-Visma and Soudal-QuickStep was possible, however, until then, nothing had been confirmed. Previously, news stated that Ineos Grenadiers and Lidl-Trek would be the teams that showed the most interest in the cyclist.
