Mattia Binotto decides to leave Ferrari

With the end of the 2022 season, Ferrari boss says goodbye to the brand after 28 years

Upon hearing the news Toto Wolff, Mercedes boss, said that this information was inevitable “I think Mattia and I have had our moments, it’s no secret over these many years. But in a way, we cemented that in 2022. We were in a much, much better place. But it was always clear that he was under tremendous pressure”. (Photo: Instagram)

With 28 years of career with Ferrari, Mattia Binotto resigned from his position, justifying that he did his best during the years he assumed the leadership post. The decision confirmed the rumors that had been said about Ferrari’s change of course. Who takes over the direction will be Fréderic Vasseur.

“With the regret that this implies, I have decided to conclude my collaboration with Ferrari. I am leaving a company that I love and of which I have been a part for 28 years with the serenity that comes from the conviction that I have done everything possible to achieve the established goals. I leave a united and growing team. A strong team, ready – I’m sure – to reach the highest goals, for which I wish the best for the future. I think it’s right to take this step at this moment as difficult as this decision was for me”, said Mattia Binotto in an official statement released by Ferrari.
