During the Paris-Nice competition, in March of this year, in France, two thieves broke into Tadej Pogocar’s hotel room and stole his Richard Mille brand watches, which had a value of 165,000 euros. Four days after the crime, the French police located the two people and last Wednesday (12), the French Court sentenced the criminals to four years in prison and a fine equivalent to 50,000 euros each.

According to information obtained by the French newspaper Nice-Matin, the theft was managed in a cautious and judicious manner. The robbers would have had access to the hotel room after having deceived one of the employees, while the cyclist was away from the place having a massage as a way of relieving the tensions of the race.

The robber duo already had a damaging history with the police. Before the theft of Tadej Pogocar, the two would have committed another crime in a family home also in Nice and in the same way as it had been with a cyclist. The men allegedly put a tracker in the victims’ car and pretended they were neighbors.
