Since his team announced the withdrawal of the cyclist, for not feeling fully prepared to participate in the Tour of Norway, the Criterium du Dauphiné is the first competition that Egan Bernal will participate in after his accident in May, during the Tour de Hongrie, in which there was a high-speed crash of several riders, suffering some body injuries.

The competition, which takes place in France, will serve as a preparatory base for riders for this year’s Tour de France as the route spans a 1,200km route, with the opening stage around Chambon-sur-Lac, close to an area with 80 dormant volcanoes, ending at Fort de la Bastille, in Grenoble.
