The agency, Equity Sports, even said that ‘his compensation for those years is guaranteed’. Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, NFL Network Insiders, reported that by the end of 2026 his deal could reach $218.1 million with escalators.

Mahomes and the Chiefs also intend to revisit the contract after the 2026 season, reducing the remaining years on the deal from eight additional seasons to three, says Equity Sports in the statement.

The quarterback became the NFL’s highest-paid player in 2020, when signed a 10-year extension worth $450 million. He has been named NFL MVP twice, and also led the Chiefs to two Super Bowl victories in his first six seasons.
