According to Mary Kay Cabot, Browns beat writer, Hunt’s deal is for one year and up to $4 million. He already played for the team from 2019 and 2022, and last season he was backing up Nick Chubb. This offseason he was a free agent and visited Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints, but nothing came of these visits.

Chubb suffered the injury on Monday (18), during a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. His left knee hyperextended backwards while being tackled in the first half. His knee had already been fully reconstructed in college. He is facing surgery.
Now Hunt is expected to step right in and help the team. He rushed for 1,874 yards and 16 touchdowns in his four seasons with Cleveland, and was also an effective pass catcher, getting 211 receptions for 1,806 yards.
In his 2022 season with the Browns, Hunt was unable to get a new contract and started to not take part in training camp. He played all 17 games, but runned for 468 yards and added 210 receiving.
